Kahn sets his sights on 2010

Bayern Munich keeper Oliver Kahn has revealed that he wants to continue as Germany goalkeeper until after the 2010 World Cup.

“I feel physically far too fit,” Kahn, who will be 40 in 2010, told Stern magazine.

“Dino Zoff was a World Cup winner at 40,” Kahn added.

“At 40 – I’m 34 now, so that would be the 2010 World Cup.”

Following a poor run of form in recent weeks, there had been a suggestion that Kahn take a break from the game, but the Bayern Munich stopper was having none of it.

“Why should I take a time out?” he said.

“Do I look tired or something?”
