Milan left-back Kakha Kaladze is reported to be close to joining Chelsea, according to the player’s father.
The 27-year-old Georgia international joined Milan from Dynamo Kiev in 2001, but struggled for regular first-team football at the San Siro since the arrival of Jaap Stam.
“After Saturday’s qualifier against Albania, Kakha will fly to London to sign a contract with Chelsea,” said Karlo Kaladze.
“Everything has been agreed, it’s just a matter of signing a contract.”
Milan signed Czech Republic international Marek Jankulovski earlier in the week, further undermining Kaladze’s position at the club.
“I did not have the space I was hoping to have this season and it’s time for me to move,” Kaladze said last week
“It appears that I will play for Chelsea next season.”
