Jurgen Klinsmann is not ruling out a return to coaching the German national team, but admits it won’t be any time soon.

Klinsmann coached Germany to a third-place finish at the World Cup finals in the summer, and last week, he turned down an offer to become coach of the United States.

Klinsmann said the decision to resign from his post was only taken after Germany beat Portugal in the third-place match and that it was solely for family reasons.

“As a family, we didn’t want to live the life of the past two years,” Klinsmann told Die Zeit.

One should “never say never,” Klinsmann replied when asked if he could see himself returning to Germany and working as coach again, even of the national team.

But “at the moment”, he admitted, it was out of the question.
