Patrick Kluivert has promised to behave himself at Valencia when he was unveiled by the Primera Liga club.

“Everyone can relax. I will behave myself at night,” Kluivert told a news conference.

Valencia inserted a clause in his contract which permits them to rescind Kluivert’s contract if the player does not behave himself, according to Spanish media reports.

Kluivert is one of a clutch signings Valencia have made since the end of last season alongside coach Quique Sanchez Flores, striker David Villa, midfielders Edu and Mario Regueiro and goalkeeper Juan Luis Mora.

“With the quality we have in this new side we will be able to do great things which the fans will enjoy. I am sure we will finish among the top four next year,” Kluivert added.

“The most important thing is that the team stands together. What I hope to do is add my quality. I hope the fans will be able to enjoy my play and my goals.”

Valencia endured a disappointing campaign last season. Champions the year before under coach Rafa Benitez, they finished seventh in the league last season and weere knocked out in the group stages of the Champions League.
