Round up of all the latest transfer speculation.

Newcastle United are tabling up a sensational offer for Rangers defender Jean-Alain Boumsong.

Sir Bobby Robson is desperate to bolster his defence after the transfer of Jonathan Woodgate to Real Madrid on Friday.

Boumsong is believed to be on top of the Magpies wanted list, which also includes Chelsea’s William Gallas and Robert Huth.

Boumsong impressed the St James’ coaching staff in a pre-season friendly tournament in the north east.

But Rangers will be desperate to hold onto their man. The highly rated Frenchman signed for the Ibrox club on a free transfer from Auxerre. He has impressed in his early games for the Glasgow outfit and had attracted interest from several of Europe’s top clubs before choosing the Gers.

Rangers will hate to lose their summer signing but may be tempted by a big money offer for the 24-year-old.

French club Nantes, are chasing former Czech Republic Under-21 captain Jan Polak.

The 23-year-old helped his team Slovan Liberac to a win over the French side in the Intertoto Cup. The versatile player can play as a defensive midfielder or in the heart of the defence.

The player has also attracted interest from German side Hamburg.

Bolton Wanderers have invited Polish goalkeeper, Norbert Tyrajski, on trial. The giant 29-year-old is looking for a club after being released by GKS Katowice for financial reasons.

Blackburn Rovers have joined the race to sign Lens midfielder Charles Edouard Coridon. The Frenchman is eyeing a move away from Lens after agreeing a leave on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old enjoyed a successful loan-spell at Celtic earlier this month and Bhoys boss Martin O’ Neill is contemplating a move before the transfer window closes.

But Rovers boss, Graeme Souness, has invited Coridon to train at Ewood Park so he can have a closer look at him.

According to the player’s agent, Celtic are still keen on him but “Rovers are in pole-position”.

Lecce have signed Croatian striker Sasa Bjelanovic from Italian rivals Genoa on a one-year loan.

The forward had attracted interest from Celta Vigo in Spain but opted to stay in Italy.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for 17-year-old Rio Mavuba.
Mavuba starred in the Toulon under-20 tournament and has apparently attracted the attention of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Meanwhile, Manchester United youngster, Kenny Cooper, has completed a loan move to Academica in Portugal.

The American striker has thanked United’s assistant manager, Carlos Queiroz, for his part in setting up the temporary transfer.

At a press conference, he said: “It’s a great chance for me. I’m desperate to play soccer and anxious to start scoring goals.”

German club Borussia Munchengladbach have signed Czech Republic international, Marek Heinz from Banik Ostrrva.

Heinz was impressive during Euro 2004 scoring in the group stages against Latvia and Germany.

Celtic, Everton and Portsmouth were interested in signing the star, but he opted for a move to Germany where he spent an unsuccessful loan spell at Hamburg.

Rangers have taken former Aston Villa ace Mustapha Hadji a trial.
The Moroccan winger has failed to earn a new deal at current club Espanyol and Gers boss, Alex Mcleish, is desperate to increase his midfield options.

He said: “He’s got good experience and we will make a decision on him later.”

Spanish team Celta Vigo are believed to be after the services of Aston Villa striker Marcus Allback.

Celta who were relegated from the Primera Liga last season want to rebuild a team after they lost a number of top stars.

Allback is considering his future in Birmingham after failing to nail down a regular first team place. With the arrival of Carlton Cole to Villa Park this season, Allback has fallen down the pecking order.

And should Villa sign James Beattie from Southampton, then the 31-year-old will be surplus to requirements.

Sporting Lisbon are also preparing to table £1m for the Swedish striker.

Lyon are monitoring Anderlecht striker Aruna Dindane.

The French club have lost Giovane Elber for up to two months after the striker broke his leg in the league match versus Metz over the weekend.

Lyon coach Paul Le Guen is a keen admirer of Dindane and is believed to be his prime target.

But the Lyon hierarchy may look elsewhere for cover to their star Brazilian as Dindane has already played in this year’s UEFA Champions League and will be ineligible to play when Lyon kick-off their campaign.

Club chairman, Jean-Michel Aulas, said: “Maybe it’s better to sign a player that can’t play in the Champions League than no player at all.”

Bolton have signed Blessing Kaku after the Nigerian international impressed coaching staff after a brief trial.

The 23-year-old has clinched a three-year-contract at the Reebok Stadium after being released by Israeli club Ashdod.

Kaku joins fellow Nigerian Jay-Jay Okocha at Bolton.

Trotters’ boss, Sam Allerdyce, was pleased with the hard working midfielder.
He said: “Blessing is an excellent signing for us. He impressed me and my coaching staff on a recent trial and has all the attributes to be a success in the Premiership

“He has an excellent passing game and likes to get on the offensive.

“He also has the necessary defensive instincts to make it in the English game and is not afraid to get stuck in and win challenges in the middle of the park.”
The African star is Allerdyce’s ninth signing of the summer.

Real Madrid might be preparing a bid for PSV Eindhoven’s Mark van Bommel.

Real coach, Jose Camacho is desperate to sign a holding midfielder having been snubbed by Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira.

But Real president, Florentino Perez, has suggested that there will be no more arrivals at the Bernabeu after the purchases of Michael Owen from Liverpool and Jonathan Woodgate from Newcastle United.

Barcelona and Everton have failed to sign the Dutchman on several occasions.

West Bromwich Albion have joined the race to sign ex-Arsenal striker Sylvain Wiltord.

The Frenchman has left Highbury this summer and has attracted interest from several top clubs including Italian giants Fiorentina.

But Wiltord will not rush his choice and could receive a huge contract as the bidding for his services begins.

The France international is wanted at the Hawthorns by boss Gary Megson who believes Wiltord can form a deadly partnership with Nwankwo Kanu, his former Arsenal colleague.

But Fiorentina are favourites to bag the forward as they look to rebuild a newly promoted top-flight side back to its glory days.

Portsmouth hope to complete the signing of Senegal striker Diomansy Kamara from Italian side Modena for £2.5m.

Nice have signed midfield player Florent Balmont from French rivals Lyon on a four-year-deal.

The 24-year-old has left the champions in a £1m transfer after failing to hold on to a regular place. He spent last season on-loan at Toulouse and has fallen behind Mahamadou Diarra, Juninho Pernambucano and Michael Essien in the pecking order at Lyon.

Den Bosch of Holland have signed Vincent Euvrad from Belgian side Genk on a one-year-loan.

The newly promoted Dutch team have bolstered their squad with the 22-year-old who can play as a defensive or attacking midfielder.

Euvrad failed to earn a contract after a trial with Den Haag but was successful on trial at Den Bosch.
