Milan defender Martin Laursen has confirmed that he is keen to join Tottenham on a season-long loan.

Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle have been monitoring the Danish international who has struggled to cement a regular starting place at the San Siro.

“Tottenham is definitely a possibility,” said Laursen.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the Premiership and want to test myself there.

“I know Tottenham have been interested in me for a while and their genuine interest means a lot.

“We have seven international players at Milan competing for two places. And I will not take another season like this one.”

“I am happy the Denmark coach, Morten Olsen, is concerned about my situation in Milan and that I am important for the national team.

“But it’s even more important for me to play regular football at club level.”
