Singapore billionaire Peter Lim is urging Liverpool’s board to accept his offer to buy the club and “not simply ratify a sale” to the New England Sports Ventures.

After Wednesday’s High Court ruling that Liverpool’s American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr. ddid not have the authority to prevent the board selling the club, a swift sale of the Premier League club is believed to be imminent.

Lim, who originally matched the £300 million bid by the Red Sox owners, made an improved offer on Tuesday of £320 million, plus an additional £40 million to be made available to manager Roy Hodgson for use in next January’s transfer window.

Lim said that Liverpool’s reconstituted board should “consider all the offers before them.”

He added that his “ownership represents the best option for the future of the club and its supporters.”
