Liverpool have defender the actions of defender Jamie Carragher after the defender climbed a barrier to confront Luton supporters after Sunday’s 1-1 FA Cup tie at Luton.
The club claim that Carragher was spat at and had beer thrown over him during the altercation.
“Jamie went to sign autographs for youngsters in the executive boxes,” said a Liverpool spokesman.
“Unfortunately, he was subjected to a tirade of foul-mouthed abuse and also had beer thrown at him.”
Liverpool will play Luton in their third-round replay at Anfield on Tuesday 15 January.
