Livorno have appointed 46-year-old Giancarlo Camolese as their new coach.

The former Torino, Reggina and Vicenza coach replaces Fernando Orsi, who was sacked on Tuesday after the club’s disappointing start to the season which has seen them collect just two points from their opening seven league games.

“LA.S. Livorno Calcio announces that we have reached an agreement with Giancarlo Camolese to be the first team coach,” a statement read on their Web site.

Orsi had only been in charge since March but the club have struggled this season following the sale of Italy striker Cristiano Lucarelli to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
