Germany coach Joachim Low has warned Jens Lehmann that must win back his starting place at Arsenal if he wants to retain his position as Germany’s first choice keeper.

The German stopper has been unable to regain his position as first-choice to Manuel Almunia at Emirates Stadium.

Lehmann, who has fully recovered from an Achilles problem, is set to start for Germany against Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Saturday.

“Jens thinks that he will be playing again for Arsenal soon. He’s confident about that, but if that situation does not change in due course we will have to talk,” Low told The Guardian.

“What is due course? I think December. For the European Championships we need a goalkeeper with match practice.”
