Brazilian defender Lucio admits that the time has come for him to leave Bayer Leverkusen for a top European club.

The 25-year-old World Cup winner defender has been with the Bundesliga club for three and a half years but now wants a move to a club in Italy, Spain or England.

“I want to take the next step in my career,” Lucio told Kicker magazine.

“That is why it is important that I leave Bayer.”

“A bigger club with a big reputation would be the best thing for me,” added Lucio.

“Manchester United, Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona would suit me.

“I am going to the Copa America in the summer so I would like everything sorted as soon as possible.”

Although he would relish a move to another country, Lucio admmits that he could be tempted by a switch to rival Bundesliga club Bayern Munich.

“Bayern are a great club and I could imagine going there as my family has no problem about staying longer in Germany,” he said.
