With is competitive debut still four weeks away, Uruguayan striker looks out of shape.
Barcelona have placed Luis Suarez on a special diet ahead of his competitive debut for the club next month, according to reports in Spain.
Suarez, who is serving a four-month competitive ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini, scored twice for Barcelona’s ‘B’ team against Indonesia Under-19s on Wednesday, but a number of unflattering photos of the player emerged, leading one Spanish TV channel to describe him as “fatter than usual”.
The 27-year-old striker, who joined Barcelona for £75m from Liverpool during the summer, will complete his suspension on October 24, just 24 hours before the first El Clasico fixture of the season on 25 October.
The headline on the front page of today’s Mundo Deportivo reads “Plan Luis Suarez” with the report claiming that he will be put on a special diet plan to drop a few kilos before the big game.
The report says Suarez has been placed on a special diet ahead of his return, with reports claiming he is 7-10 kilos – about 15-22 pounds – overweight. The troubled striker is also undergoing psychological training.
