Real Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo is confident that Robinho will be a Madrid player next week.

“I think he’s going to come. The move could be completed in the next few days,” Luxemburgo said after his squad returned for pre-season training on Friday.

Santos striker Robinho claims that Real Madrid have offered his club $25m and cannot understand why the offer has not been accepted.

The 21-year-old is keen to move to Madrid and said on Monday: “I didn’t expect such a fuss when I got a concrete offer to leave Brazil. At the moment I’m not in the right frame of mind to play in Brazil.”

However, Santos president Marcelo Teixeira is adamant that with the player will stay in Brazil unless someone meets the club’s $50m valuation of the player.
