Lyon director of sport Bernard Lacombe has admitted that the club have failed in a bid to sign David Trezeguet.

The French club are looking for striking reinforcements after suffering injuries to key forwards.

Lacombe admits Lyon held talks with Juve officials over a possible move for Trezeguet, but the Italian club were not interested in selling.

“We went to Turin with the chairman to talk about David Trezeguet,” Lacombe told France 3.

“They said no and I don’t think they will change their mind.

“That is true that this boy can help us, because he can play Champions League football, contrary to the other great players, who couldn’t be qualified to play it with us.”
