New West Ham chairman, Eggert Magnusson, has criticised the deal which brought Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano to Upton Park.

Magnusson, who said the pair would not be leaving the club when the transfer window reopens in January, has not ruled out the possibilty of a summer move.

Magnusson, who has criticised the previous regime at Upton Park, was unhappy with ther terms of the deal

“I’m not happy with agents or consortiums owning players. It’s not the way I want to move forward,” said Magnusson.

“As a football man, I do not think it is the correct way.

“I think the club should have total rights over a player.”
