England are now seven wins from seven in Group Six, so a win over Croatia in September will see Capello’s men heading to the World Cup 2010 in South Africa

Paris Saint Germain skipper Claude Makelele has extended his contract with the French first division side until 2010.

“Staying on in Paris was my aim at the end of last season,” explained the 36-year-old former French international midfielder.

“I’m happy to take this decision and I hope that we’re going to achieve an emotion-filled season for the players.”

Makelele’s decision to stay in Paris was helped in part by the departure of coach Paul Le Guen, with whom he didn’t see eye to eye.

He arived in Paris in the summer of 2008 from English side Chelsea.
