Milan captain Paolo Maldini is in two minds about the possibility of undergoing further knee surgery in the summer.

The veteran defender is again suffering from a troublesome knee injury, and although surgery was initially ruled out, Maldini may consider anotehr operation.

“The knee that underwent surgery last year feels good,” he told Milan Channel.

“I’ve started the week positively, despite the problems I had after the derby. So we will see.

“Another operation? It will depend on the swelling. If it is like last year it will be practically impossible to continue.”

Meanwhile, Maldini is confident over the Milan’s chances in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

“I’m optimistic over the Champions League,” he added. “At this point all eight sides have the possibility of going all the way.”

Milan face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals early next month.
