Adam Johnson looks set to join Manchester City in what would be the biggest deal of the transfer deadline day.
The Middlesbrough winger has been the subject of several bids from the Premier League club, but Boro boss Gordon Strachan assured fans that the 22-year-old would remain at the Riverside until the summer
However, over the weekend the England Under-21 international officially requested to be given permission to hold talks with City, and with an improved offer on the table, a move seems inevitable.
Reports suggest the fee for Johnson could be in the region of £8 million.
