Manchester City boss Mark Hughes says talks are continuing with Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Togo international, valued at £25m, has still to agree personal terms with City.

“Talks are ongoing at the moment. We are still in discussions,” said Hughes.
Adebayor has also been linked to Milan and Chelsea.

Speaking on Tuesday at the news conference to announce the signing of former Manchester United striker Tevez, Hughes admitted that there could be more arrivals before the start of the season.

“It may well be that opportunities will present themselves. We still have areas we want to strengthen,” he said.

As well as Tevez, City have also signed Paraguayan Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn and midfielder Gareth Barry was bought from Aston Villa.

In Adebayor, City would be buying a player who has scored 62 goals in 142 appearances for Arsenal since he joined the Gunners from Monaco for £7m. He hit 30 goals in the 2007/08 season but struggled with injuries last season.
