Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted Manchester United has no interest in signing American teenager Freddy Adu.

Great things have been predicted for the 16-year-old D.C. United player, with many observers expecting him to move to Europe in the near future.

The teenager’s agent, Richard Motzkin, claimed on Sunday that United were interested in luring him to the Premiership as well.

Ferguson admits his scouts have watched Adu but he admitted that there was no chance of the club signing Adu at the moment.

“We are not interested in Freddie Adu,” the Scot told MUTV. “We have watched him as a youngster, but there is no interest in him at the moment.”
