A cleaner was questioned by police and fired after she took photos of the Manchester United players’ properties while cleaning them.

Detectives interviewed Jessica Tinsley, 24, after United alleged she was ‘rummaging’ around the houses of new signings Angel di Maria and Marcos Rojo as well as Javier Hernandez, who is currently on loan with Real Madrid.

The cleaner photographed the interiors of the luxury properties and even Rojo’s £200,000 wage slip.

Jessica, who was interviewed by police but not charged, spoken of her anger after being sacked by the Clean and Sparkle company.

She said: “I’m gutted I’ve been sacked – all because I took a few photos.

“I did it out of sheer nosiness – their houses were incredible – and I just had to take a photo of the wage slip because I couldn’t believe how much he was paid.

“I was gob-smacked when two officers came to my door. They took my phone and deleted all the photos.

“They said they thought I would sell the photos to burglars – but I would have never done that, it’s not in my character at all.

“I just showed my family – my little brother is a massive Manchester United fan.

“I would clean each house a couple of times a week – I would mop and Hoover the floors, dust, and on some occasions I did the ironing.

“I was so nervous ironing Angel’s designer gear – I would turn his Dolce and Gabanna T-shirts inside out to iron them as I was terrified I’d burn them.

“There was always loads of Adidas gear for his child too.

“He was there once and said ‘Hi’ to me – he seemed friendly enough.

“His house was massive – the biggest – but there were only three of the rooms in the house being used.

“I only went to Rojo’s twice because they were going to get in a Spanish-speaking nanny who would also do the cleaning – but I felt like his girlfriend didn’t want anyone English because she couldn’t understand.

“His house was a mess when I first went – there was Plasticine stuck to the carpet in the playroom and the kitchen was really dusty.

“They had a new Beagle puppy, so there were bright white gorgeous carpets upstairs with yellow stains all over it.

“I went to Hernandez’s and his sister was living there.

“It was a grand art-deco building with a swimming pool and spiral staircase.

“Most of the homes were immaculate anyway, so I don’t know why they bothered hiring a cleaner.”

Jessica was also hired to clean the apartment of club manager Louis Van Gaal.

Jessica said: “I was quite surprised that Van Gaal was living in a flat – it was very modern inside though.

“There were vases filled with chocolates and nuts everywhere – I helped myself to a couple of them.”

Yesterday a Manchester United spokesman said: “We received information from a third party which concerned us enough that we felt we ought to contact the police.”

While Greater Manchester Police confirmed: “Police in Trafford received an e-mail from Manchester United football club that gave concern for possible breaches of safety and security of Manchester United staff.

“As a result of this contact, officers from GMP spoke to a woman from the Warrington area.

“No offences were disclosed and there were no concerns about the safety and security of Manchester United staff.”
