Jack Kachkar, the Canadian businessman looking to buy Marseille, has denied offering the post of coach to Sven Goran Eriksson.
Kachkar is looking to buy Marseille from main shareholder Robert Louis-Dreyfus for €115million.
“It will be around 115 million euros,” Kachkar told L’Equipe. “We have made our study and offered a price which we judge appropriate. I think everybody is happy.
“Marseille are a great club with enormous potential and amazing supporters.
There has been speculation that Eriksson will be appointed Marseille coach when the takeover has been completed, but Kachkar denies this.
“We met once, last month, at a coaching seminar,” he said.
“We spoke a lot about football in general. I was very impressed with what he had to say, but I have made no formal contact with him.
“Besides, I chatted to other coaches there.”
