Man Utd head to the blue side of the city to face rivals Man City this Sunday knowing that Mark Hughes’ side did the double over them last season.

Uefa have charged Marseille over the behaviour of their fans after an object was thrown at Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard during their Champions League meeting on Wednesday.

Liverpool’s 1-0 win was marred by the incident late in the first half as Gerrard prepared to take a corner in front of the visiting fans.

Gerrard was struck by what appeared to be a cigarette lighter thrown from a section of Marseille supporters and the midfielder was praised after the game for not reacting to the incident.

“He is a good professional. Steven did well not to react,” said Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

The incident follows a similar incident when the two teams met in France and Uefa have fined Marseille €15,000 after an object was thrown during the clash between the two sides at Stade Velodrome in September.
