Serie A strugglers Messina have sacked their coach Bruno Giordano and replaced him with Alberto Cavasin.
Messina are 18th in the 20-team division after conceding two late goals to lose 2-1 at home to bottom-placed Ascoli on Sunday. Sunday’s home defeat to Ascoli proved to be the final straw for Messina’s board.
The Sicilian side started the season well, but have managed just two points in their last 10 games.
Cavasin has previous top-flight experience with Lecce, Brescia and Treviso.
