German international defender Christoph Metzelder has extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund for two more years until 2007.
The 23-year-old, who was a member of the German teamm which finished runners-up to Brazil in the 2002 World Cup, has not played for his club since undergoing Achilles tendon surgery twice in the past 19 months.
However, after successfully completing his rehabilitation programme, he looks set to return to action in the coming weeks.
