Milan have ended their attempt to sign Real Madrid striker Ronaldo.
Real had shown no interest in selling the Brazilian, but had indicated they may be attracted to a player swap involving Ronaldo’s compatriot Kaka.
But a statement on the Italian club’s website on Friday said they had “definitively broken off” talks.
Ronaldo joined Madrid from Milan’s city rivals Inter four years ago.
