Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has issued a statement condemning speculation linking Andrii Shevchenko with a move to Chelsea.

According to reports Chelsea have reached agreement with the Ukrainian about a move in the summer, although the player and his club Milan have repeatedly denied the story.

“We don’t sell our jewels,” Galliani told Sky Sports News. “We haven’t received any offers for Andrei Shevchenko and, in any case, we would refuse them.

“Andrii will stay with us for many more years to come.”

Shevchenko, meanwhile, has confirmed declared that he would be happy to sign an extension with Milan.

“I will be happy to sign a new contract for Milan. There’s no problem and there are no reasons to talk about me and other clubs,” said Shevchenko.

“I have a contract with Milan until 2009 and, if the manager wants I will be more than happy to sign a longer contract with them.”
