Milan have dismissed speculation that striker Christian Vieri could leave the club during the January transfer window.

Vieri has been a peripheral figure this season, and is thought to be concerned his World Cup place could be in doubt if he does not play more regularly.

His concern has led to reports claiming Milan are preparing to offload the much-travelled striker, but the club have rubbished the speculation.

“There is absolutely nothing for Vieri,” said Milan general director Ariedo Braida.

“We haven’t any intention of letting him go and, as far as I know, he hasn’t any intention of wanting to leave.

“Will he be sold by us? No, this is the group and this will remain.”
