Milan have strengthened their defence by signing Urby Emanuelson from Ajax for €1.7 million.
The 24-year-old left wing-back had been earmarked for a move to the San Siro in the summer when his contract expired.
But with Gianluca Zambrotta injured and Luca Antonini struggling to deputise for the Italy international, the Rossoneri have been forced to act now.
“AC Milan announces the purchase from Ajax of Urby Emanuelson, who has signed a contract until June 30, 2014,” a club statement said.
