Milan have confirmed that Barcelona forward Samuel Eto’o is their top transfer target this summer.
The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with Eto’o’s team-mate Ronaldinho as well as Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, but coach Carlo Ancelotti has identified Eto’o as the player he would most like to sign.
However, according to reports, Barca’s €50m asking price for the Cameroon forward, may turn out to be a major stumbling block.
Discussing Ancelotti’s targets, Milan chief officer Adriano Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport: “At the top of his wishes there is Eto’o, who is a pure striker.
“Surely we will negotiate also (about) Ronaldinho, but he’s not a pure forward. I’ve told Carlo that president (Silvio) Belusconi will sacrifice but that we can’t reach the €50m Barcelona have asked me (for).
“We can spend a lot of money but not this sum, it’s foolishness.”
