Milan have completed the signing of Sam Dalla Bona from English Premiership club, Chelsea.

The former Atalanta youth player is expected the join the San Siro club on Tuesday for training after signing a five-year deal.

The fee between the clubs is undisclosed but is believed to be around £1million.

Dalla Bona, now 23, moved to Stamford Bridge from Atalanta in October 1998 when he was just 17. He has made a total of 73 appearances for the London club and scored 6 goals.

After rejecting a contract extension last week, the midfielder was transfer-listed and Milan have wasted no time in securing his signature.

Despite impressing at the London club, he admits Dalla Bona was keen for a return to his homeland. As he explained to the Milan’s television channel: “I am delighted to be back in Italy and in Italian football and above all with Milan.”

“I have learnt a lot from English football and I want to show how much I have developed.”
