Diego Milito believes he made the right decision by choosing to join Genoa instead of Tottenham.

The Argentina international had been linked with a number of clubs over the summer after suffering relegation with Spanish side Real Zaragoza, but the striker ultimately chose to return to the club he played for between 2003 and 2005.

The forward admits he is delighted to be back after a three-year absence and is adamant that he never wanted to join any other club.

“I know I’ve made the right choice, this is my home and these are my people,” said the Argentine when he arrived in Genoa to hoards of cheering fans.

“I was against a move to Tottenham. I beat my fist on the table in order to wear this shirt again.”
