Inter striker Diego Milito is set to miss his side’s Champions League last-16 encounter with Bayern Munich after being ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury.

Milito, 31, picked up the injury during Sunday’s 5-3 win over Roma and could miss up to six Serie A games, starting with the Nerazzurri’s trip to Juventus this weekend.

A statement from Inter read: “Milito underwent tests which have revealed a second-degree hamstring strain in his left leg.”

Inter coach Leonardo has urged the Argentina striker, who has scored five gaols in 16 Serie A goals this season, not to rush his return.

“Diego has to be calm and not think about what has happened,” Leonardo said. “He does not need to prove anything to anyone and he knows he is an important player to Inter. He needs to relax and recover in the best possible way.”
