Massimo Moratti has defended Rafa Benitez from criticism former Inter boss by Jose Mourinho.

The Inter president has publicly backed his boss after seeing his credentials questioned.

Former Nerazzurri coach Mourinho, who left the club for Real Madrid this summer after securing an historic treble, suggests Benitez will never match his achievements at Giuseppe Meazza.

“I can’t say I agree but I will say that Benitez is working with a lot of serenity,” said the Inter supremo.

“He has many similarities (to Mourinho) like professionalism and attention to little details.

“We know Mourinho, I was happy that he said he wants to meet Inter in the Champions League final at Wembley.

“I’m sure that he loves Inter just as we have a lot of affection for him.

“But at this time there’s someone who is looking to win over the public, the club and the fans and that’s Benitez.”
