Inter president Massimo Moratti is confident Jose Mourinho will remain at the San Siro despite speculation about his future.

Mourinho has never appeared settled in Italy and has frequently fallen out with members of the press and the Italian football authorities.

Despite winning the Scudetto in his first season and leading the league this term, there has been persistent talk a return to England, perhaps with Manchester City, or switch to Spain with Real Madrid.

But Moratti is confident that the former Chelsea and FC Porto coach will not quit the club at the end of the current season.

“Mourinho has a contract with Inter,” Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport. “But besides this, I am certain that he will happily remain.”

“The newspapers talk about Mourinho as a character. But they forget that, above all, he is a great professional.

“He takes care of every minor detail. He is very focused on the work done in training and I believe he deserves all the money he gets from his contract.”
