Inter coach Jose Mourinho is convinced his team will win the Scudetto.
The Nerazzurri beat Fiorentina 2-0 on Sunday to maintain their seven-point advantage over second-place Juventus with 10 games of the season remaining.
The win came several days after Inter were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United.
“It was a difficult game psychologically,” admitted Mourinho. “Fiorentina have players of great quality. But if my team continues to show this character, willingness and spirit, we will most likely win the league.”
Two goals from leading scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic handed Inter their 20th victory of the campaign.
Ibrahimovic made amends after failing to score in both ties against United,
“The Champions League was my first priority,” admitted Ibrahimovic. “Unfortunately, it didn’t go our way. We must play better in the future because this may be sufficient on the domestic front but it´s not enough in the Champions League.
“However, we have important aims still to play for, like the Coppa Italia and the Serie A title.”
Ibrahimovic’s brace increased his league tally to 17 goals, equalling his personal record with Inter, set last season.
“Without question, this is my best year,” admitted Ibrahimovic. “But I believe I still can improve my numbers.
“We will win the Scudetto. The important thing is not to keep our guard down because every game will be hard. Everyone wants to beat the defending champions, the strongest team in the tournament.”
