Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted he wants to end former club Porto’s Champions League bid.

Porto fans spat on Mourinho when the two sides met at Stamford Bridge and he is expecting more hostility when the teams meet tonight.

He said: “I don’t even want Porto to qualify. Whoever comes second should do so because they deserve it.”

Mourinho has been given permission by Uefa to send assistant Steve Clarke to Monday’s pre-match news conference and will be accompanied by six bodyguards in the wake of death threats he received shortly before he left the club to join Chelsea.

But a Porto spokesman said: “It’s a match like any other.”

Mourinho guided Porto to the Champions League title with victory over Monaco in May.
