Former Czech Republic captain Pavel Nedved has ruled out a comeback for the national team.

Nedved admitted he had been considering whether to return to the Czech team over the past few weeks, but he has decided that he could not cope with the twin demands of club and international football.

“It is my final decision. It is not easy to play all the matches for Juventus when one is 33. I wouldn’t be able to play also for the Czech national team,” the 2003 European Footballer of the Year told Czceh radio.

Nedved has not played for the Czech side since the 2004 Euro Championship in Portugal, where he suffered a knee injury in the 1-0 semi-final defeat to Greece.
