The fourth team in the Premier League, Aston Villa, take on the fourth team in the German Bundesliga, Hamburg, in the UEFA Cup this Wednesday.

Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved has denied claims that he will play on for another season.

The former Czech Republic international’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and most people had assumed he would hang up his boots at this time.

The 35-year-old, who signed for Juventus in 2001, has hit out at Tuttosport for claiming his wife had suggested he would sign a new one-year deal with the Turin outfit.

“First of all, my wife has not been speaking to anyone about my career and secondly, I have already come to terms with Juventus over my future,” he said.

“It depends only on Juventus when they will think it is the right time to announce it,” he adds.

It has been reported that Nedved will join the backroom staff at Juve once he confirms his retirement.
