Belgium central defender Daniel Van Buyten has signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich, as have promising youngsters Thomas Müller and Holger Badstuber.

Van Buyten, who celebrates his 32nd birthday on Sunday, has played in all 20 of Bayern’s Bundesliga games this season, has agreed to extend his expiring contract by two years until 2012.

“We have a great squad and a great, intelligent coach,” he said from the club’s training camp in Dubai. “For me, everything fits. I am happy here.”

Meanwhile, 20-year-olds Badstuber and Muller have also signed new deals with the club, with the former extending his deal by three years until 2014 and the latter adding two years to his existing contract, taking him through until 2013.

Club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “Both came through the ranks of our youth department; we always want to keep players like Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Müller and Badstuber.

“We are happy that we were able to extend the contracts of three important players.”
