UEFA have been asked to investigate an alllegation that Newcastle striker Lomana LuaLua was racially abused by Inter’s Christian Vieri.

The incident allegedly took place just before the end of last night’s Champions League match at the San Siro.

Newcastle made an official complaint to a UEFA delegate after the match.

UEFA are also set to investigare claims that sections of the home support racially abused Newcastle defender Titus Bramble.

UEFA said on its official website: “A decision will most likely be taken on 21 March, with any appeal dealt with on 3 or 4 of April.”
