Norway’s national team coach Aage Hareide has resigned after his team failed to win a match during 2008.

The Norwegian Football Association (NFF) said it would take its time looking for a replacement for Hareide. Norway’s next match is a friendly against Germany in February next year.

“The bottle’s empty,” Hareide said.

Norway are bottom of 2010 World Cup qualifying Group Nine, led by Holland, with two points from three matches.

“We need a coach with power,” NFF president Sondre Kaafjord said. “We’re two points behind the playoff spot, and will, of course, push for that.”
