Jay-Jay Okocha has ended speculation about his future, by agreeing a three-yearwith Bolton Wanderers.

The contract is subject to the Nigerian international obtaining a work permit.

“Securing Jay-Jay’s services underlines this club’s desire to compete in the upper reaches of the Premiership,” Bolton boss Sam Allardyce told BBC GMR.

“His performances over the past two seasons have helped to fortify the name and reputation of Bolton. His signature is a marvellous boost for everybody.”

There had been reports that Bolton were prepeared to break the bank in orderto secure Okocha but Allardyce dismissed repoorts that the club had offered the 30-year-old £7.5m over three years.

“Jay-Jay has signed a significant contract, but it astounds me where figures of £7.5m have come from. This is wide of the mark,” said Allardyce.

“Securing Jay-Jay’s services for the next three seasons firmly underlines this football club’s desire to compete in the upper reaches of the Premiership.

“His performances over the past two seasons have helped to fortify the name and reputation of Bolton Wanderers.

“His signature is a marvellous boost to everybody connected with the club,” Allardyce told Bolton’s official website.
