Andre Ooijer has confirmed that he will return to PSV Eindhoven next season from Blackburn Rovers.

The 34-year-old Dutch international defender moved to Ewood Park from PSV in 2006 and is now planning to end his career with his former club.

Ooijer made almost 200 appearances for PSV between 1998 and 2006, before moving to Rovers under former manager Mark Hughes.

“We will make it definitive in May,” he told PSV TV. “I have had three nice years abroad, but I will be happy to return to Holland.”

Although his future lies in eindhoven, Ooijer is determined to help Sam Allardyce’s side secure their Premier League status over the closing weeks of the campaign.

“We have agreed to concentrate on the present,” he said.

“I am fully focused on Oranje and Blackburn, and PSV can focus on their own competition.”
