Osasuna have sacked coach Jose Antonio Camacho following the club’s poor run in recent months.

A 1-0 defeat away to Real Sociedad on Sunday saw Osasuna drop into the relegation zone after just one win in their last 11 league matches.

Camacho, the former Spain and Real Madrid coach, took over at Osasuna in October 2008 following the sacking of Jose Angel Ziganda and led the club to a 15th-placed finish in his first year in charge before guiding them to 12th spot last season.

Osasuna, announced on their website that they will name Camacho’s successor in the coming hours.
