Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has admitted he has a “huge desire” to return to his former club Spartak Moscow.

Pavlyuchenko arrived at Spurs from Spartak Moscow at the start of last season, but he has fallen out of favour under manager Harry Redknapp and has indicated that he wants to leave the club.

“I have a huge desire to return,” he told Sportbox. “If I receive a good offer, I’ll be sure to accept it. Spartak has a place in my heart, always.

“In my first year in England, I played consistently, scored goals and was successful with the national team. I had an insight into English football and learned a lot. It was a good, if not completely positive, experience and will be helpful for the future, so I have no regrets, but the current situation doesn’t suit me.”
