Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez has denied talk of a dressing room rift at the Bernabeu amid claims that certain players at the club were unhappy with the treatment of Fernando Morientes in the recent deal that saw Ronaldo move to Real from Inter.

The arrival of Ronaldo is rumoured to have caused problems with certain ennior Real playters unhappy that striker Fernando Morientes was being used as a bargaining lever in the deal. Morientes was due to move to Barcelona as part of the Ronaldo deal but pulled out of the switch to the Nou Camp at the last miinute, a decision which almost jeoparised the whole deal.

“The dressing room is over the moon and its atmosphere has never been better”, claimed Perez. “If you doubt it, ask the players”.

“I don’t believe there are any problems right now between them”, he added.

Perez admmittted he hopes to resolve the situation with Morientes in an ammicable fashion.

“But it must suit both the club and the player”, Perez stated.
