Perugia have been dealt a blow with the news that Marcelo Zalayeta will missthe rest of the season through injury.
The Uruguayan striker was injured in a friendly in Jamaica and scans have revealed several fractures of his left foot.
Given the usual recovery time Zalayeta is unlikely to be fit before the beginning of May, effectively ending his season.
Zalayeta arrived in January from Juventus and was expected to spearhead Perugia’s bid for Serie A survival.
