Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has revealed on his Twitter account that he has decided to join Tottenham over London rivals Chelsea.
Both clubs had offers in the region of £3 million accepted for the South Africa international, who told Everton he would not extend his contract which expires at the end of the season.
Pienaar tweeted: “To end speculation I am going to Spurs. I’ve had brilliant years at Everton and it will always be a special place in my heart.”
Pienaar arrived at Tottenham’s training ground on Tuesday to finalise his £3million switch.
The 28-year-old midfielder underwent a medical before putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.
