Paris St Germain and Marseille have been docked a point each following a row involving a meeting between the two clubs last month.
The French Football Federation also said that the clubs’ presidents would be suspended for three months.
The clubs must also sign before June 30 an agreement to ensure further incidents do not occur or face the possibility of being forced to play each other behind closed doors.
Both clubs can appeal against the docked point, although neither club dropped a league placing in the table as a result of the penalty.
Marseille, fearful for the security of their fans and players at the Parc des Princes, had sent a reserve selection to Paris for the match on March 5 and asked their supporters not to travel to the capital.

In recent years matches between PSG and OM have become regarded as high risk encounters. The game, which was due to kick off at 2000 GMT, was brought forward four hours to help security forces.
